Hi! I'm Karin Galvis, an aquarist by vocation and illustrator by passion.
I specialize in illustrations for all kinds of children's products: textiles, stationery, books,
greeting cards, and more. This passion led me to create my brand of children's
pajamas and beachwear, featuring my original patterns. and designs. This journey
has helped me understand different perspectives, not only as an illustrator, but also
as a user and entrepreneur.
I find inspiration in the simplest and most magical details: working in an aquarium,
a true oasis in the city, spending time with my nieces, enjoying their tenderness, their
creativity and their laughter. I'm so inspired by strolling through tree-lined streets and
flower-filled parks, reading, visiting the sea, and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

I love seeing and hearing the sea, but my connection to the mountains is magical.
Your favorite season?
Although I live in a tropical country, I adore spring and autumn, and I also enjoy winter a little.
If you weren't an illustrator, what would you be?
I once asked myself that very same question and the answer came straight from the heart: a goldsmith or a woodworker.
Your favorite color?
Blue! Without a doubt. One of my favorite palettes must include blue and orange.
What kind of illustration would you never do?
I would never illustrate anything offensive, racist, or gory.
Are you bilingual?
No, my native language is Spanish. I’m not an English speaker, though I do find it easy to write in English and can understand texts easily. I enjoy reading books in English, Portuguese, and Italian.
